"BaseGlasgow is an exciting new event taking place at the SECC, Glasgow, on Tuesday 22nd November 2011.

BaseGlasgow focuses on Glasgow’s transformation to a low-carbon economy. It is closely aligned to the Sustainable Glasgow initiative under which Glasgow aims to reduce its carbon emissions by 30% and become one of Europe’s most sustainable cities within 10 years.

It will also look at the relationship between Glasgow’s low-carbon/sustainability credentials, its long-term economic success, and Glasgow’s leading role in driving Scotland’s carbon reduction ambitions.

BaseGlasgow will bring together public sector policy makers and administrators with the private sector organisations responsible for designing, building, managing and funding this low-carbon transformation. Specifically it will identify business opportunities in the areas of retrofitting buildings; combined heat and power/district heating; waste to energy systems; renewable energy; sustainable transport; smart energy networks; and energy management.
